Roserona sings his sorrows in the jazz-pop of ‘Malborowinston’

Roserona is one of the Catalan talents that in 2025 can take an important step in their career. The Roser Canet project, a native of Cardedu, is characterized by its approach to the singer -songwriter pop with influences from folk and jazz. His new EP, ‘Caro Diario’, has seen the light this Friday, including his collaboration with Socunbohemio, the intimidist ‘Potser Som’.

The influence of jazz differentiates Roserona from his colleagues by profession. ‘Malborowinston’ is a decadent piece of jazz-pop that Roserona sings, it is easy to imagine it, with a cigar in his hand. And ‘El Coll Vull estimate’ explores an almost Lynchiana and Dream-pop aesthetic: during the composition of the EP, Roserona influenced the work of artists such as Alice Phoebe Lou or Lana del Rey.

Framed between the nana ‘Tot is perfect’ and the intriguing ‘Jardins Amagats’, ‘Caro Diario’ moves to music some concerns that the artist has written in her personal diary in the last couple of years. He says that the composition process has been “curative” and describes in particular his tendency to feel guilty for his own success, which one night led him to cry during a party.

Before ‘Caro Diario’, Roserona launched its first EP, ‘Ombres d’eno Perduts’, which included some of its best compositions, such as the experimental ballad ‘què faig amb tu’ or the bluesra ‘com if not rea haguèssim Conegut’.

Roserona will present ‘Caro Diario’ officially next Friday, March 21 in the Jamboree Sala in Barcelona, a place closely linked to the local jazz scene. Tickets are still available.
