Rosalía gives 1,000 euros to a fan in Mexico to set up the “Gym Lux”

Rosalía’s ‘LUX tour began its Mexican stage on August 15 and will continue in the country until the 29th, when it will end its five concerts at the Palacio de los Deportes in Mexico City. In recent days, he has taken time both to show his solidarity and to remember one of the pioneers who made ‘La Perla’ possible.

Who doesn’t remember Paquita La Del Barrio and her ‘Two-Legged Rat’? Rosalía has paid tribute to the Mexican artist in her last concert, ensuring that “without ‘Rata de Dos Patas’, ‘La Perla’ does not exist”: “Coming to sing in Mexico for me is coming to sing in a land with history and with an enormous tradition and culture, with a very special way of feeling music that I admire a lot,” commented the Catalan.

It is not only the fact of releasing all the rage in a song that unites Paquita and Rosalía, but also the musical style itself, with ‘La Perla’ clearly inspired by the rancheras of the country: “Thank you very much Mexico, and thank you Paquita La Del Barrio,” he concluded. A few days before, Rosalía also expressed gratitude to the Mexicans, and now one of them can tell the story of her life.

Just a few days before, in Tlajomulco de Zúñiga, Rosalía met Oliver, a trans boy who was in charge of selling the artist’s homemade merchandising outside the VFG Arena, where the concert was scheduled. He explained to the artist that he was trying to pay for his studies and told her that his dream was to open a gym. The next day, Rosalía returned.

This time, Oliver gave her a sweatshirt, but she also had a gift for him: a vinyl and 1,000 euros. In a video published by El País, it is said that the gift contained a dedication in which Rosalía encouraged Oliver to fulfill his dreams: “I hope you fulfill everything you want and one day you have your gym.” According to the newspaper, Oliver plans to contact Rosalía again to ask if he can call his gym “Gym Lux.”
