Rosalía, Amaia, Leiva… the most nominated in the Music Awards

The Spanish Academy of Music Awards have published the list of nominated artists for their 3rd edition. A total of 218 nominations divided into 43 categories will be part of this year’s awards ceremony, which will take place on May 26 in Madrid.

Rosalía, Leiva, Amaia and Guitarricadelafuente are the artists with the most nominations, with eight each. The author of ‘LUX’ is up for the awards: Artist of the Year, Best Album, Best Pop Album, Best Song (‘La Perla’), Composer of the Year, Best Video Clip (‘Berghain’). Amaia also competes with her in the most important categories, in addition to Best Tour and Best Recording Engineering.

These are followed by Valeria Castro, with 6 mentions, and Amaral and Rusowsky, with 5 each. On the other hand, Aitana will be up for three awards (Artist of the Year, Pop Album and Pop Song), the same as Luz Casal. The Academy of Music Awards will once again include categories dedicated to flamenco, jazz, classical music, author songs, rap and urban music and folklore.

In the Best Album and Song by Singer-Songwriter we find artists such as Valeria Castro, Pedro Guerra, Pedro Pastor and Rozalén or Xoel López. On the other hand, in the category of Best Urban Music Album, Bejo, Delaossa, Grecas, Lia Kali and Rels B have been selected.

In addition to music creation, the Academy of Music Awards will also highlight other professions in the music sector, such as music video direction, album design or event of the year. There is also space for soundtracks and long video formats, such as the documentary ‘Flores para Antonio’, whose main song, performed by Alba Flores, is also present in the Best Song for OST category.
