The Spanish director Maria Trenor dives into the music scene of the seventies to discover the history of that classic that is “Rock Bottom”Robert Wyatt’s key album for 20th century psychedelic music, published in 1974.
The film combines adult animation, documentary film and musical film to sensitively address, with good doses of psychedelia, hallucinatory love and free creativity, the life of experimental musician Robert Wyatt. “Rock Bottom” It is a tribute inspired by the songs of that legendary album and that brings us closer to this indecipherable figure to tell us about the transformative power of music.
This surprising and poetic animation tells us the story of extreme love between Bob and Alif, inspired by Bob himself. Wyatt and the illustrator and lyricist Alfreda Bengewhile commemorating the fiftieth anniversary of an epic album that Wyatt recorded in Mallorca with the help of Nick Mason of Pink Floyd, Fred Frith and Mike Oldfield. The film is released in both Spanish and Catalan with the voices of Oriol Pla, Miranda gas and Roger Pera.
The film is nominated for Best Animated Feature Film at the Forqué Awards and has been shortlisted as a candidate for Fierce Outburst Fiction Award.
