Robbie Williams is one of those artists that you can’t take your eyes off when he gets on stage. In ‘Better Man’, his upcoming biopic, this is taken to the next level. The film will chronicle Williams’ life from beginning to end, from his childhood to his successful solo career. However, he will be played by a CGI-animated primate.
«I know what you are thinking. “What’s up with the monkey?” says Robbie Williams himself at the beginning of the trailer for his film. “I’m Robbie Williams, one of the biggest pop stars in the world, but I’ve always seen myself as a little less evolved,” he continues. The crazy concept of ‘Better Man’ comes from the mind of Michael Gracey, director of ‘The Greatest Showman’ and will be released in the United States on January 17.
According to the official synopsis, the film will tell the “true story of the meteoric rise, dramatic fall and extraordinary resurgence of the British superstar”, with all the stages he has experienced, including that of Take That.
Williams’ composer and friend, Guy Chambers, has announced that “the songs will be reimagined”: “It will be similar to what they did with the Elton John biopic,” he says, referring to ‘Rocketman’ (2019).
