Jay Buchananlead vocalist of the American rock band Rival Sonshas announced his debut solo album “Weapons Of Beauty”which will be released on the 6th February 2026 via Sacred Tongue Records and Thirty Tigers. With this new album, Buchanan will present an album that promises something slower and cinematographically inspired.
In preparation for this album, Jay He went to the Mojave Desert for three months, taking refuge to write in a windowless underground bunker. The objective of Buchanan It was not so much escaping as renewing itself. He lived simply in that small space, powered by a gas generator, writing by firelight at the foot of abandoned gold mines. There, surrounded by heat and horizon, Buchanan began to shape songs about longing, resistance and an almost romantic celebration of the years spinning non-stop.
Jay Buchanan has already released the first preview of “Weapons Of Beauty”. “Caroline” is a simple and painful letter, addressed to a home or a lost lover. Furthermore, it is a song that introduces a recurring theme about return and forgiveness. The video, filmed in the same gold mines that Jay worked while imprisoned in the Mojave Desert, illustrates a couple’s journey in health and illness.
