It seems like the wait will never end. In addition to joking about the never-ending creation of 'R9' at the Fenty Hair launch party, Rihanna has also offered a serious answer about her journey with the album, admitting that she's “starting over.”
“This product line is what has taken me the longest to create,” the Barbadian singer said during the presentation of her new hair care line. “No, I lied, that's 'R9',” she joked right after. However, during a red carpet interview with Entertainment Tonight she gave a fitting response about how patient fans are with her.
«Music, for me, is a new discovery. “I've been working on the album for so long that I put everything aside, and now I'm ready to go back to the studio,” confessed the 36-year-old singer. «Yes, I have started again, but I don't want to abandon the songs I have. “I want to listen with other ears, with my new perspective and see what is still worth it and what I am still in love with,” she concluded.
Last January 28th marked 8 years since the release of Rihanna's last album, 'ANTI'. Since then, the one who is officially the female artist with the most diamond albums has released some collaborations (not very surprising) and has been part of the 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever' soundtrack with the ballad 'Lift Me Up' and with the song 'Born Again'.
Rihanna tells ET that she is “starting over” her album:
“I have been working on the album for so long that I kinda just put all that stuff aside. And now, I'm prepared to go back into the studio. Now I'm prepared. So I'm gonna start.” pic.twitter.com/PT5WXe2FBg
