The vocalist and founder of The Verve, Richard Ashcroftwill not be able to drive for six months, in addition to having to pay a fine of two thousand seven hundred pounds. All this for having exceeded the permitted speed in Brentford (England) in February of last year.
It is not the first time that the vocalist faces a sanction for improper driving, since in 2022 and 2024 he was penalized for the same reason, adding to a long history of road crimes that could make him lose his license.
Although he did not sympathize at the hearing, Ashcroft has accepted the sentence and has pleaded guilty to the crime for which he is accused.
On a professional level, the Briton has had a great year in 2025, as he opened all of the concerts in Oasis in the United Kingdom and Ireland in July and August, as well as in South America in November. And as for this new year, the artist will present his recent seventh solo album “Lovin’ You” (RPA, 2025) in different British venues in March and April.
