rewiredXsemble is born, connection between classical and electronic

is born rewiredXsemble (rXs)a project that establishes a reconnection of the classical ensemble in the 21st century. This is a project led by the composer and sound designer Llorenç Peris.

Llorenç Peris is the brain behind a proposal that presents us with a connection between chamber music and contemporary electronic music, always with a very current look. Peris’s background – originally from L’Hospitalet de l’Infant (Tarragona) – is as broad as his outlook. Over the years he has collaborated with La Fura dels Baus, the DC Ballet or Ray Kurzweiland combines classical writing with current production techniques to explore new forms of sound expression.

A few days ago “Chasing (short version)” was published, the first single and introductory letter of this new rewiredXsemble (rXs) project. In it a string quartet is combined with electronics, redefining the relationship between both worlds: chamber music and electronics.

In any case, next year new material will be published, which will be part of an EP in which we will have much more information about the proposal. As for “Chasing”, along with Peris we can find Barnabas “Batio” Hangonyi (cello, Slovakia), Andrea Porras (viola, Valladolid), Shanti Easton Valdés (violin, Cuba) and Diego Elía (violin, Barcelona).
