REL Acoustics HT/1510 Predator II Active Subwoofer

Integrated into the prestigious HT Series of REL Acousticsthe active subwoofer HT/1510 Predator established a new benchmark for bass and sub-bass reproduction within its category. Now, the Predator II brings improved features along each key parameter: a internal amplifier 1,000-watt Class AB linear power supply and PerfectFilter inputs designed specifically for A/V applications, a new transducer with a 15” (381 mm) CarbonGlas cone that handles substantially higher powers (40%), and an elegant and stylized design never seen before in Home Theater subwoofers. All of this is complemented by the system compatibility consisting of multiple REL subwoofers, allowing the Predator II to be combined with models from the T/x and S ranges of the British firm.

Going into the engineering details of the new REL, it is important to highlight the emphasis placed by its creators on the use of a large transducer dimensions, as it allows the lowest frequencies of the spectrum to be reproduced with a ease and naturalness that compact subwoofers will never be able to match. Thus, the speaker used retains the combination of fiberglass, carbon fiber central cap and large voice coil, which allows the fast, reactive and punchy bass which constitute the main hallmark of the cinematic sound with capital letters. The Predator II also features massive improvements when it comes to design and manufacturing quality of its enclosure, whose proportions are reminiscent of those of the models from the exclusive Reference range by REL Acoustics.

To this we must add dedicated rails to mount up to 3 Predator II units on top of each other in the famous REL Line Arraysin order to satisfy the demands of the most opulent home theater systems. Finally, let’s highlight another significant novelty of the Predator II: the incorporation of an elevel entry high wireless. In combination with wireless transmitter Airship II from REL, the latter’s Texas Instruments A/D and D/A converters and the British firm’s renowned input circuitry for high-level signals, the new input allows Predator II owners for the first time add the signal from from one of the main outputs of the amplifier used.
