Rayden returns with a new group. Two years after announcing his retirement from solo music, David Martínez Álvarez returns as a member of an “emerging” band, as he himself indicates. Her name is Chiquita Movida and they have already published their first single, titled ‘Ojos Superocho’.
Chiquita Movida brings together Rayden, Mediyama and Skiz Siete on vocals, accompanied by Babe (guitar, sequences and keyboards), Jhonny (bass) and Jona (guitar). The members are friends and members of Rayden’s old band, who also tells how the project came about: “I had said everything I needed to say alone, and I was at peace with it.”
It all begins in a rural house retreat to which they also brought instruments and in which they created 5 new songs: «I had never written something just for pleasure. Write to silence. Write without being heard by anyone. And I thought that maybe that would bring out something new in me that I didn’t even know,” the artist declared.
In this way, Rayden goes from being alone to being part of a group, when normally it is the other way around. ‘Ojos Superocho’ is a playful pop rock that gets to the point in what it wants to say: “Your eyes see in Superocho / To my battered heart,” they sing in the chorus. This is also the preview of the band’s first EP, ‘Gastos de Gestión’, available tomorrow on platforms.
