There is interesting news regarding 7D7Dcurrent musical project of Tim Commedordbassist of Rage Against The Machine and AudioslaveA tour of the band in our country has been confirmed for next October.
7D7D is the name of the band that formed a couple of years ago Tim Commerford (Rage Against The Machine bassist) alongside veteran Jonny Polonsky (Big Nosea project in which Commerford and his partner in RATM are also involved Brad Wilk) and the drummer Mathias Wakrat (drummer of the project that bears his own surname). The trio shared songs like “Misinformed”, “Capitalism” or “Written On A Napkin”, all of them offering us clues of what they offered together.
Commerford has been focusing on this project since the disbanding of the Rage Against The Machine tour and overcoming prostate cancer. 7D7D’s music, in this sense, has had a therapeutic meaning for him. “The glass is half full. That’s the beauty of writing and playing bass. When my mother got sick, that’s when I learned to play bass. When I was on stage with Rage, there were times when I wasn’t thinking about cancer. When I play with 7D7D with Mathias in the studio, I don’t even care what we’re doing. I go into a trance and forget everything. It’s beautiful. When I wake up in the morning I’m glad it’s a new day, then I remember I have cancer and there’s no way to stop that thought. A dark cloud hangs over you all day. When I jam with Mathias, I switch off and it feels great. Music has always been there in the toughest times.”
But back to the tour dates. The group will be performing on October 27, 2024 in Santiago de Compostela (Capitol), on the 28th in Madrid (Mon Live), on the 31st in Barcelona (La 2 de Apolo) and on November 1st in Bilbao (Santana 27). You can get the tickets at this same link.
