Queen sells its catalog for a billion dollars

Queen have reached an agreement with Sony Music and have sold their entire catalog for the immense amount of one billion dollars, becoming the largest acquisition of this type of all time.

According to Variety, the deal includes all of the English band’s musical production, as well as merchandising and other “business opportunities.” The only thing not included in the contract will be what is generated from future live performances.

The amount of the agreement exceeds that of Bruce Springsteen’s catalog in 2021, which also sold it for $500 million to Sony. The multinational also has all of Bob Dylan’s music in its possession and intends to take over half of Michael Jackson’s discography, valued at 600 million dollars.
