QUAD Revela speaker series
Reveal is the name of a new and exquisite family de acoustic boxes signed by the legendary brand British QUAD, known for offering very high quality products in line with its famous motto “The Closest Possible Approach to the Original Sound”. A range consisting of the 3-way/4-speaker bass-reflex column Reveal 2 and the 2-way/2-speaker bookshelf bass-reflex monitor Reveal 1 (an optional custom-made floor stand is available, the Reveal Stand) that continues a long tradition of innovation that began in 1949. First of all, the implementation of the revolutionary “True Ribbon” tweeter, fruit of exhaustive four-year work by the QUAD engineering team under the direction of the prestigious Peter Comeauin order to take the reproduction of the subtleties that constitute the soul of music further.
This transducer is complemented with mid and bass speakers of high performance that, again, are the direct consequence of several years of investigation, developmentevaluation and continuous improvements, highlighting the use, in the corresponding cones, of a new composition based on fibers and baptized with the appropriate name “Reveal”. Refined with the aim of achieving seamless integration with the aforementioned “True Ribbon”, these cones have been selected for their rigidity and their excellent properties in terms of damping. Next to one innovative peripheral suspension custom developed rubber to facilitate large displacements without distortion and a high power enginethis new diaphragm allows you to obtain perfectly articulated mids and precise, fast and deep bass.
For its part, the management of the transducers described is entrusted to a Linkwitz-Riley crossover filter compensated in phase, whose final configuration has been determined by combining the most advanced design techniques computer assisted with hundreds of hours of critical listening using all types of musical genres. In the aesthetic field, the Revela draws on the renowned elegance and uniqueness of QUAD, complemented by enclosures made up of multi-layer panels carefully hand finishedin which a studied structure of internal reinforcements connected to the external panels speeds up dissipation of unwanted vibrations and resonances, maintaining the structural rigidity even in the most extreme operating conditions.
