Conclusion
The new 3050 model from Q Acoustics is a clear step forward compared to its predecessor, the 2050i and this – let’s not forget – was already one of the best economical floor speakers on the market. First, it’s prettier than before; The previous version was attractive, but this one has undergone a positive makeover and enhances any room it is in. Second, it is very well built for its price; Frankly, we don’t find any other model out there that surpasses it. Then we have its size: no rival comes close to it and its size gives it a deeper bass and/or greater efficiency – the 3050 is very easy to attack and goes down quite a bit. Last but not least: the sound, which is excellent for the price – only when you spend £1,000 on a model like its bigger brother do you get a real improvement in performance. If you are an audiophile who is strapped for cash, you have to check out this speaker.
Our verdict
We like: easy musicality, detailed and focused sound, its appearance
