The protesting group Pussy Riot surprises us by collaborating on the second preview of his first full-length with none other than the metal band avenged sevenfold.
Pussy Riot have joined forces with the singer M. Shadows and the guitarist Zacky Vengeance of Avenged Sevenfold to shape their new single, “Candy Dopamine”, although this is not the first time they have worked together, since in 2023 with the participation of Tolokonnikova in the alternative version of “We Love You”, renamed “We Love You Moar”.
Although it is almost more surprising that, after fifteen years of career, Pussy Riot are now going to publish what will be their first full-length work, “CYKA”which will see the light June 12. The album will include a total of thirteen songs plus an outro. Among them we will find the already known “Disobey”, “Gore (feat. B-Real de Cypress Hill), “Utopia (feat. Salem Ilese)”, “Nothing To Lose”, “Gods Left”, “Murka”, “Faceless Pig”, “Cancel Me” or “Blizzard”.
According to Tolokonnikova, the song was born from her own experience with antidepressants. “It started with my dependence on antidepressants, but also looks at how many people turn to pills and injections to optimize their mental well-being or appearance. This is not a judgment, but an observation based on my personal experience with treatments for PTSD and depression.”
After the release of the album, the band will take their proposal live to Paris with a performance scheduled for June 20 within the exhibition “Beyond The Streets”in the Grande Halle de la Villette.
