Behind the name Punto Bobo hide two musicians with extensive experience: Bernat Sánchez and Jaime Del Blanco. Together they have created a musical project with a very theatrical sound that they define as “Iberian chamber pop” and that is not easy to compare with anything in particular.
Bernat Sánchez and Jaime Del Blanco met as part of Enric Montefusco’s band – also the singer of Standstill –, something that is reflected in their new single, “Montefusco”, which they recently released. But aside from that, both multi-instrumentalists have had a long career that has allowed them to play with national artists such as Mishima, The Cubero Brothers, Nacho Vegas, Javier Ruibal or Kiko Venenoand international as Blixa Bargeld, Jonathan Wilson or Mick Harvey.
After presenting songs like “Cul de sac” or “Anastasia Dumange” to society some time ago, Punto Bobo have released “Montefusco”, another of the songs that will be part of “Long live the fun”which will be his first album to be published on February 14 by the hand of Gandularecord company in which they have published ZA! either sewardamong others. The album has been written, recorded, mixed and produced in the early hours of the morning by the band themselves. Garter Stitch.
For the live debut, you will have to reserve on March 22, and it will take place at the Heliogàbal room (Barcelona). The inaugural show of this project will be a “theatrical musical journey into the universe of Punto Bobo. There will be elements of illusionism, meta-narrative, acting and audiovisuals mixed with vocal and instrumental interpretation. The repertoire will be based on the album of the same name and will be will pay tribute to artists such as Vainica Doble or Víctor Jara”.
