Pulp, Top 1 in UK, leave Addison Rae at Nº2

‘More’ of Pulp has been a new commercial success for the band, especially in its main market, the United Kingdom. In this country they reach the 1st position with about 30,000 units sold during their first week.

This is the third number 1 of Pulp in the United Kingdom, since ‘Different Class’ in 1995 and ‘This is Hardcore’ in 1998 also succeeded. Instead, ‘We Love Life’ remained in 6th place in 2001.

‘Different Class’ is, by far, the best selling album of Pulp in the United Kingdom, as it is 4 times platinum above 1.2 million copies. Instead, ‘His’n’hers’ and ‘This is Hardcore’ were simply a gold disc (at some point between 100,000 and 300,000).

This new and remarkable ‘More’ has been number 5 in Austria, number 6 in Ireland and number 9 in Germany, in addition to number 33 in Australia.

The good pulp entry in UK has left without options ‘Addison’ by Addison Rae, which has had to settle for 2. Nor is it bad for a debut. Worse has gone to the new marine work, ‘Princess of Power’, which remains in the top 7.
