Pro-Ject Debut PRO S Turntable

A additional twist to the legendary Debut model. With these words he introduces Pro-Ject to the new Debut PRO Sa turntable that pushes the limits of philosophy of a company for which their vinyl players, whatever their price, always make a difference. As a result, all components (except the polished metal spindle) of the new Pro-Ject are finished in matte black, while 100% manual controls invite the listener to interact with the turntable turning it on, placing the record on the platter, moving and lowering the tonearm in order to obtain a highly rewarding listening experience.

As it marks the tradition of the undisputed world number one in turntables, the Debut PRO S concentrates a substantial number of the effective engineering solutions of the Austrian brand, the first of which is a larger base, which positions it between its older brothers X2 and X8 and its slimmer little brother Debut PRO. The resulting weight gain allows the new Pro-Ject to offer a more robust foundation for reading vinyl, while maintaining proportions of great beauty. Another relevant element of the Debut PRO S is found in its 10” aluminum S-arm with precision machining and SME type connector to facilitate the installation of an extensive repertoire of pickup capsules.

Said arm includes a wide range of settings so that said installation is optimal, while a high precision electronic speed control (it is possible to play even 78 rpm Shellac records after changing the drive belt for a dedicated one) ensures highly precise turning speeds and stable. For its part, a diamond-cut aluminum “subplatter” guarantees a perfect overall turning precision, by adding more mass to the entire system formed by the platter and the traction motor, while improving the noise and resonance absorption unwished. Special mention deserves the Debut PRO S platter, with high mass and made of functional aluminum, at the same time equipped with a TPE (thermoplastic elastomer) ring on its internal face to absorb possible resonances and thus reduce crying and shaking. The new Pro-Ject (which, like all the brand’s products, is entirely handmade in Europe) is completed with height-adjustable metal decoupling feet and a semi-balanced phono cable.
