The Barcelona band Speaker Cabinets It premieres in Spanish with “When everything collapses”, the single and video clip with which they start a new stage. Today we premiere it on Mondo Sonoro.
Almost twenty years have passed since the Barcelona-based Speaker Cabinets began a career in which they have been distilling influences from artists such as The Strokes, Franz Ferdinand or Foalsthrough albums like “Requiem For The Atlas City” (16) and “Tales From New Babel” (23), concept albums performed in English and in which their full potential was made clear.
Now they return, but they do it in Spanish and presenting “When everything collapses”, a song in which they maintain their main coordinates but that brings new air to their proposal. It is also the first song of what will be his new album project, again with Ventilador Music.
The song breathes social criticism and presents a message more than adequate for the days in which we live. “Superficiality and haste prevent us from connecting with the most essential part of ourselves, and only when everything collapses or falls under its own weight is when we manage to see the ineffable. That which really makes us who we are, but that we cannot observe except through collapse. And sometimes, a good shake is more than necessary to change things and return to our roots, leaving aside appearances and structures. artificial structures that we have been building around us by simple routine.
The song is officially released tomorrow, Friday, October 10.
