The Dearest They are the closest thing to a rock’n’rol supergroup emerged in Barcelona. In their training they militate members of The Meows, The Midnight Travellers, Freewheelin ‘Tornados or musicians who have accompanied Santi Campos and Fernando Alfaro.
Today we release the video clip (extended version) of the song “Leave that People Alone”, which is the work of Antmade Studiowhich revolves around a street mural to La Matanza in Palestine (Ávila Street in Barcelona). But let’s be they who tell us about the song: “The protest, sometimes, goes from being a right to be a necessity, a duty. Within a war of illegal occupation by the genocidal government of Israel, which is massacing a whole town only for the fact of being what it is and for the petty economic interests of its allies, ‘Leave that people alone’ As an improvisation about an apocalyptic riff that tears itself and explodes as a seismic dementia, which can remember, at times, the version of ‘Star Spangled Banner’ that perpetrated Jimi Hendrix in Woodstock ’69.
In The Dearest we find Xavi Ribas (The Meows, Els Tons …), Fernando Costas (Sinters, Dirty Rockets …), Omar Gallego (The Midnight Travellers, Krudillow) and Joel García (Joe Traveller of The Midnight Travellers, Freewheelin ‘Tornados, Santi Campos, Fernando Alfaro …).
Their style, as they have been able to suppose them in the rock of ninety atmospheres, with definitive riffs, melodies and a misty and addictive vocal work in songs that do not forget the most pop tradition of the sixties, nor the hard and effervescent character of the seventies. That The Dearest (the album), financed through a successful crowdfunding campaign, is already on the street and the band will present it at the Laut room on March 29in a concert that promises to be a new commitment to rock and roll.
