Poppy gives death metal and its melodic reverse, on her 7th album

One year after the release of ‘Negative Spaces’, Poppy’s latest album, the ex-youtuber has announced its follow-up: ‘Empty Hands’, now her seventh album, comes out exactly on January 23rd.

Poppy, known for switching abruptly from one musical style to another, from electropop to rock, remains in love with metal on ‘Empty Hands’. This is the sound proposed by the first two previews: ‘Bruised Sky’ is brutal death metal and ‘Unravel’ its melodic reverse, but both include growls, screams and devastating guitar and drum arrangements.

Poppy has worked again on ‘Empty Hands’ with producer Jordan Fish, keyboardist for Bring Me the Horizon. ‘End of You’, Poppy’s recent collaboration with Amy Lee of Evanescence and Courtney LaPlante of Spiritbox, will not be part of the album.
