Until the September 19 can be visited in the Paradiso Art Hotel in Ibiza the exhibition “Rocks Stars: Mick Rock x Hannah Sillito”an exhibition in which we will find photographs of David Bowie, Freddie Mercury, Madonna, Iggy Pop and more.
The work of the legendary and late photographer of the great rock stars, Mick Rockwill be exhibited at the Paradiso Art Hotel in Ibiza until September 19, but pay attention, because it is a silkscreen reinterpretation of her work in collaboration with the contemporary British artist Hannah Shillitowho gives a totally new and fresh air to these images.
The exhibition is presented by Agony + Ecstasy Gallery, Ibiza’s first pop art and photography gallery. The exhibition will feature remixes of Mick Rock’s photographs by big names such as David Bowie, Freddie Mercury, Debbie Harry, Lou Reed and Nico, Kate Moss, Tina Turner, Madonna, Lady Gaga, Iggy Pop and Dolly PartonThis is the first public collaboration the Estate Of Mick Rock has undertaken with an artist since his passing in 2021. Shillito’s adaptation of Rock’s photography is a marriage of pop art and iconic portraiture from the 1970s to the early 2000s.
“Working with such iconic images is an artist’s dream and I couldn’t be more honoured and excited to have my name alongside a legend in rock history. It’s the biggest milestone of my career and I hope to do justice to Mick Rock’s legacy. It’s hard to even put into words what this means to me. I hope the art speaks for itself,” Hannah Shillito said of the collaboration.
The collection is made up of ten original silkscreen prints, varnished and hand-decorated with diamond dust. The originals will be accompanied by 75 limited edition giclée prints. The works are sealed by Estate Of Mick Rock and signed and numbered by Hannah Shillito with a certificate of authenticity.
