Pitchfork chooses the best albums of 2025, so far

From Pitchfork they have not wanted to wait for the middle of the year to reveal the projects that already consider that they deserve to be among the best of 2025. The list is formed today by 39 albums, which have separated per month of launch. During the rest of the year, the list will be progressively updated.

The month of May only contains an album, ‘Iris Silver Mist’ by Jenny Hval, which we just reviewed a few days ago in this same medium. In April, on the other hand, there is much where to choose from. Among some less commercial options we find the bon Iver (‘Saber, Fable’), DJ KOZE (‘Music Can Hear Us’), Skrillex (‘F*CK U Skrillex You Think U andy Warhol But Ur Not !!’) and Adrianne Lenker (‘Live at Revolution Hall’).

‘Glory’ of perfume genius and ‘Mayhem’ by Lady Gaga enter the March elections. Together with ‘I had to throw more photos’ of Bad Bunny, Gaga is the biggest artist to enter the list. Of The Weeknd, no trace. On the other hand, it is a joy to find Panda Bear (‘Sinister Gift’) among the highlight of February, along with Ichiko Aoba, Kelela and Oklou. Finally, ‘Eusexua’ of FKA Twigs also between the best of the year.
