Pharrell defends himself against “right-wing trolls” over Taylor Swift

Pharrell Williams went so far as to say in an interview that he “passes politics” and that sometimes he gets “irritated” with the support of some artists for political leaders. These statements came a few days after Taylor Swift publicly supported Kamala Harris. In a new interview with GQ, he claims it had nothing to do with her.

In the conversation, Williams clarifies that her comments had nothing to do with Taylor and that those who claim they were directed at her are “right-wing trolls”: “I love Taylor. “She knows it,” he declared. He also adds that in the original interview he does not mention Taylor at any point and that, in fact, he has a ‘1989’ t-shirt: “I love people, brother,” he declared.

The producer continued giving his vision of politics, despite having previously stated that he does not have much interest in it: “I heard something the other day that made all the sense in the world: right wing or left wing, everything is part of the same bird”.
