The Australian-British electronic rock band Pendulum releases “Napalm”, a new single in which, once again, they explosively combine various genres they have explored so far.
Pendulum acknowledge having been inspired by this song in the recent universe of the British Bring Me The Horizonwho in turn have Pendulum among their influences when it comes to combining genres. The song would be the somewhat reluctant response to the request by those responsible for Virgin, the label on which the band led by Rob Swire publishes, when they urged them to do “more drum’n’bass”.
In any case, Pendulum have become one of the leading representatives of the combination of electronics and guitars in recent years. In this new single, which comes after “Halo”, their collaboration with Bullet For My Valentinefeatures the appearance of Joey Valance & BraeSwire admits to being a fan of the latter and points out that their song “Punk Tactics” also served as inspiration for this “Napalm”.
On the other hand, the band has told NME that they are not currently thinking about an album, although their new songs will feature a lot of hard guitars without forgetting their drum’n’bass side, since Swire recognizes that, although they are now in a more metal phase, Pendulum has always been a group between both musical universes. If there is a new album in the next few years, this would be the first since “Immersion” of 2010.
