Paul Weller announced a few weeks ago that, in July, I would publish “Find el Dorado”album in which he will version some of his favorite songs. Among them is the classic of Bee Gees “I Started to Joke”.

You can already hear the adaptation that Paul Weller signs of what is one of the most legendary themes of the first Bee Gees, when they were a pop formation far removed from what would be in the years of the explosion of the Music disc.

The ex The Jam and The Style Council This theme of 1968 has versioned because it seems an example of a great melody and that it is a song that captures the essence of the music of those years. The version adds to the previous ones published by the artist and that are “Lawdy Rolla”, original of the French band The Guerrillas, and “Pinball” by Brian Prothero.

But “I Started to Joke” is one of the main pieces of the album, although Weller himself acknowledges that he had not heard the song until many years after he starred in his own career.
