Paramore has generated an uproar among its followers after a story published on its Instagram account. The group made up of Hayley Williams, Taylor York and Zac Farro, which has had its comings and goings over the years, seems to once again create uncertainty around its future.
The band posted this statement on the platform without any context: “Now that Paramore has spent a year touring their ‘This Is Why’ (and making sure to take good care of themselves in the meantime), a chapter of the band’s career has come to fruition.” its end. They have fulfilled all obligations with the record company and are free agents. “As for the future of Paramore, all three members have agreed that there is a level of uncertainty.”
The group’s future could be hanging by a thread after fulfilling its contract with the record company. However, the story that Paramore published on Instagram is an excerpt from an interview given to UPROXX. In this interview, the text is much longer and continues after the previous excerpt: «But one thing is certain: they will still be together and they will still have fun. ‘The only thing that matters is that we will continue to be each other’s community,’ Williams says. Farro agrees: ‘I just hope we can continue building the Paramore empire and then rule the world.’ And wherever they end up, the huge community of fans that Paramore has built will also be there for them.
Although the full text is clear and denies any possibility of a breakup in the near future, the selection of the text that Paramore has made to publish on Instagram is striking, without clarifying that it is part of a longer interview or explaining any other details. The group, however, still has big goals on the way: next summer they will serve as the opening act for Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour as she travels through Europe.
