Confirming its desire to give the format a rest, as it had already hinted at on occasion, Prime Video has announced today that Operación Triunfo will not return until September 2025. However, we already know that its presenter will continue to be Chenoa.
This was revealed at an event attended by Vertele. There, Ricardo Cabornero, director of Prime Video in Spain and Portugal, said: “OT 2023 has been a great success and has set a precedent not only in the field of Prime Video but also in the industry in Spain, driving more subscriptions than any other local original in Spain. What Operación Triunfo has demonstrated is the ambition we have when it comes to entertaining, and our desire to innovate.” However, it is considered essential to let the format rest so that it can work again, without saturating.
Almost 2 years will separate the two editions, although in between you will be able to see the docuseries ‘OT23: The Tour’, which will consist of two episodes. There will also be a 60-minute documentary in total following the contestants as they embark on the musical tour, and a new special film of the concert recorded at the WiZink Center in Madrid, which will offer fans “a unique view” of the OT 2023 tour.
The releases of the contestants of the 2023 edition continue and for now we have known the presentation single of Álvaro Mayo’s next EP.
