Oliver Sim (The XX) returns with new solo material

Oliver Simbassist of The XXreturns alone with a new single, “Obsession”, the first one that launches in three years after his first album.

Oliver Simwho already published in 2022 a solo album outside his companions Romy and Jamie of The XX, returns with an advance that will be the continuation of “Hideous Bastard”.

Produced by Bullion and Taylor Skye And recorded between London and Los Angeles, the theme marks a new era of experimentation for the London musician. While the previous one “Hideous Bastard” He explored themes of shame, fear and masculinity with radical honesty, “Obsession” takes other paths and sounds more elegant and danceable than those songs. “Obsession” tells a story of “falling in love and lust.”

The song is accompanied by a shocking music video directed by the acclaimed photographer and filmmaker Sharna Osbornestarring SIM next to the British fashion icon Erin O’Connor.

This is the first Sim song that Jamie XX does not produce, although all the information suggests that the trio is already preparing a fourth and long -awaited fourth duration with an indeterminate publication date.
