Oasis sell out tour and take over Spotify UK

Oasis have sold out all tickets for the 17 dates of their comeback tour, OASIS ’25, on August 31, which will tour several cities in the United Kingdom and Ireland in the summer of 2025. Ticket purchases have been marked by long queues, which could last for hours, by technical errors on the sales portals, now a classic, and by complaints about the practice of “dynamic pricing”. Oasis have confirmed that they will not accept resale tickets unless they are sold through Ticketmaster or Twickets at the official price.

Amid the joy of those who managed to get tickets and the disappointment of those who were left empty-handed, including former One Direction member Louis Tomlinson, who was filmed recounting his defeat, some have chosen to take the matter with humour, creating memes that capture the widespread hysteria over Oasis’ return after fifteen years.

The fever for the return of Oasis is also evident in the charts. Oasis have taken over Spotify UK, placing up to 14 of their hits within the top 50 and, two days after the announcement of their tour, ‘Live Forever’ is in 2nd place only behind Sabrina Carpenter’s ‘Taste’, the current official number 1 singles in the islands. Within the top 10 are ‘Don’t Look Back in Anger’ at 5, ‘Wonderwall’ at 8 and ‘Champagne Supernova’ at 10.

Following this, ‘Supersonic’ comes in at number 11, ‘She’s Electric’ at number 14, ‘Stop Crying Your Heart Out’ at number 21, ‘Half the World Away’ at number 26, ‘Slide Away’ at number 30, ‘Rock ‘N Roll Star’ at number 31, ‘Stand By Me’ at number 32, ‘Roll with It’ at number 35, ‘Cigarettes and Alcohol’ at number 36, ‘Married with Children’ at number 46. ‘Wonderwall’ also sneaks into the Spotify global chart, rising to number 26.

Oasis’ UK and Ireland dates will be their only European dates in 2025; the Glastonbury rumour has been denied. However, a US tour is in the works.
