The French collective New Wave specialized in lounge versions of pop, rock and post-punk classics, announces “A Date with Depeche Mode.”
This time, the French’s new work will be entirely dedicated to Depeche Mode, without a doubt one of the most important bands in the fusion between rock and electronics.
“A Date with Depeche Mode” will be available on October 30 through Kwaidan/(PIAS) Recordings France and will include up to thirteen versions by Dave Gahan and Martin Gore’s band, in which Brazilian bossa nova, French music and the British universe will be combined. Hence it was recorded between Rio de Janeiro and Paris.
To handle the vocals, Nouvelle Vague have invited a long list of guest singers. At the moment we have been able to listen to “Enjoy The Silence” with Skye Edwards (Morcheeba) and Larry Love (Alabama 3)and “Never Let Me Down Again, with the Brazilian Flavia Coelho.
