Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds release a new single inspired by San Juan de la Cruz

The third preview of “Wild God” is inspired by “The Dark Night of the Soul” by the Spanish mystic Saint John of the Cross

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds have released “Long Dark Night”, the third single from their 18th studio album “Wild God”. On the introspective ballad, Cave sings: “Telling a dream, when dreaming is all you do / But things weren’t so good, I can’t downplay it / My poor soul, I was going through a dark night / It was a long night, a week, maybe a year.” Cave has explained that the song is inspired by one of the “greatest, most powerful conversion poems ever written.”

The first single they released was the title track last March, followed by “Frogs” in May. “Wild God” It will be released on August 30, and the band will embark on a tour that will bring them to Barcelona on October 24 and to Madrid on October 25.
