New HiFi ROSE RS520

Despite its youth, Hi-Fi ROSE continues to impress with its audacity of his approaches and the technology sophistication incorporated into each and every one of its products, topped off by a very personal aesthetic and a manufacturing quality worthy of the High End more elitist. The new proposal from the South Korean brand is called RS520a refined stereo electronics that combines preamplifier, network music player (with corresponding DAC functionality) and power amplifier in a single chassis to offer the demanding music lover a very high level proposal without the formal complications inherent in a system made up of separate components. An industrial design that masterfully combines avant-garde and timelessness constitutes the letter of presentation of the RS520, whose enclosure is built from a single block of high quality solid aluminum in order to drastically suppress the structural vibrations that occur in a structure formed by separate elements.

As is usual in the majority of HiFi ROSE versions, the entire front panel is occupied by a LCD touch screen display 12’6” (320 mm) and 4K resolution, which supports various configuration options depending on the functionality that is being used at any given time. Inside the RS520, what we find is a exhibition of cutting edge technology materialized in the fusion of exclusive engineering solutions and premium components.

Thus, the DAC section It is presided over by an ES09038PRO D/A conversion “chip” from the American ESS Technology, a sophisticated and extremely precise component that exhibits such spectacular records such as a total harmonic distortion+noise (THD+N) level of -122 dB and a dynamic range of 140 dB, while supporting PCM files encoded up to 32-bit/768 kHz, DSD up to DSD512 (22.4 MHz) and MQA. The level of refinement of the DAC section of the RS520 is also accounted for by the use of a operational amplifier executed with discrete components, developed by HiFi ROSE with the aim of further reducing distortion and maximizing the naturalness of the sound.

Another significant element of this superb “all in one” electronics is the Active Power Factor Correction (Active PFC) used in the power supply, essential to ensure an extremely pure power supply to critical audio components. As far as the amplification section is concerned, the RS520 works, like the sensational RA180 stereo integrated amplifier, in the called Class AD (“Advanced D”), which guarantees exceptional linearity in the entire power delivery -2×250 W continuous over 8 and 4 ohms- thanks to the use of FET transistors based on Gallium Nitride (GaN) instead of Silicon. Approved Roon Readythe new HiFi Rose is completed with a high-performance parametric equalizer and generous connectivity, to which we must add internal management through the innovative operating system OS ROSE and the external one via ROSE Connect “app”.
