‘Near you’ is the happy “Crossing of Roads” of La Plata

La Plata publish their third album, ‘Interzona’, on February 14. The Valencians made themselves known as Post-Punk group, with nuances, with an excellent debut called ‘disorder’. Then, they have been experiencing with more or less electronic sounds, more or less Dream Pop, both in albums and Ep’s or themes with other artists.

From this ‘interzona’ three singles have been presented: ‘real life’ (one of his slow songs, “Fade out” included), the Drum & Bass ‘White Noise’ and ‘Near you’. There are three very different songs, because the album will tell very different moments of a complete story. We choose the latter as a song of the day.

‘Near you’ is presented as the most cheerful and optimistic single that the money has ever presented. In this case, it is already different from other points from the album, the voice of the epona (formerly Diego Escriche) and Maria’s alternate in a very the xx effect. Sometimes, one begins a phrase that ends the other even within the same stanza or the same verse. If perhaps, the guitars are more wild than those of Romy Madley Croft, closer to the post-Grunge, in a happy “crossing of roads” like the one that tells us the lyrics.

The effect is beautiful since the text begins by celebrating a meeting, that of two people who have met: “I have found you and you have not left / and I already want to see you again.” There is some somewhat more gloomy moment, there are more ambiguous figures, such as “fire”, “weather vane”, the impossibility of “sleeping” … but in general the calm queen in which it is also one of the most accessible songs they have registered Silver from its contagious debut.

Silver have dozens of dates distributed throughout the country over the next few weeks. Do not stop consulting them on your link.
