Nathy Peluso and Tokischa show off in the mutant ‘De Maravisha’

In these last days of 2024, Nathy Peluso and Tokischa have surprised by releasing their first joint song. In ‘De Maravisha’, Peluso and Tokischa distribute bars and brag without pause: Peluso brings “temperature” and “tomboy flow”, while Tokischa “gets hooked” in the bathroom feeling like a “queen”.

The lyrics of ‘De Maravisha’ leave a handful of references to both performers: to Peluso’s “Argentine” meat, also to her role as ‘Mafiosa’ or to her taste for “Milanese”. And also to Tokischa’s “ice” and “diamond” smile, in reference to his grills.

To release their bars, Peluso and Tokischa get on a mutant beat, in the Song of the Day for today, Tuesday. The first part, hip-hop, owes its sound to that Timbaland who worked with Missy Elliott during the 90s: it almost seems like a tribute to ‘Supa Dupa Fly’ (1997). The second changes to reggaeton because Peluso and Toki want to “twerk.” Specifically, “listening to Don Omar.”

The surprise of ‘De Maravisha’ is that the production is by Skrillex, a brostep icon turned producer of other artists. In the song, Sonny designs a more appropriate basis for the union of these two great rappers. Danny Lasnier, half of the Dominican production duo Los Audio Kimikos, participates in the composition of ‘De Maravisha’.

To close the circle, it is worth mentioning that Skrillex and Missy Elliott have collaborated in the past, exactly in 2023, on the song ‘RATATA’. Lately, Skrillex has participated in the production of multiple pop albums, for example by Beyoncé, Mariah Carey or Lady Gaga.
