Nacho Vegas is beginning to finalize the details of his new album, ‘Vidas Semipreciosas’, which will go on sale in January 2026. ‘Alivio’, the first preview, has been known since September, and now it is possible to listen to a second preview, ‘Los astonishments’.
‘The Astonishments’ is a serene composition formulated in a country ballad style. The song “puts the focus on the small things, the semi-precious things; those that truly keep the deepest part of our way of being in the world,” according to the press release. ‘The Astonishments’ is inspired by a poem by Mary Oliver and works as a “delicate guide to go through life with curiosity and emotion, without grandiloquence, but with an intensity that accompanies and transforms.”
The video clip, directed by Sofía Castañón, is loaded with symbolism. «Something breaks in everyday life. Grief and distance break out, and everything around us becomes something else,” explains the director. “And at the same time, there is beauty, light, amazement.” The clip is an “intimate visual story that refers, from the closest point of view, to some of the great themes that we find throughout his work: loss, care, contained emotion or hope.”
