Nacho Cano has been sentenced to compensate an irregularly dismissed musician from ‘Malinche’ with almost 12,000 euros, reports ElDiario. The Superior Court of Justice of Madrid has verified that the company that manages the Nacho Cano musical intended to compensate the guitarist Aitor Antruejo by applying an agreement different from the one to which he is entitled, that of actors and actresses from the Community of Madrid. Cano, through his company, sought to apply the agreement for dance or circus artists.
The agreement between actors and actresses establishes the obligation to compensate the dismissed artist with five monthly payments, which in this case amount to 12,000 euros. Under the agreement for dance or circus artists, the compensation would have been approximately 2,000 euros. Now, justice forces Cano to pay Antruejo the full amount that belongs to him.
The events date back to April 2023. On that date, Cano’s company notified Antruejo of his dismissal, accusing the guitarist of a “voluntary and continued decrease in his work performance.” Shortly after, Cano’s company recognized that the dismissal had been unfair.
These days, Cano is called to testify as a defendant – along with two other people – for the alleged illegal hiring of immigrants in his musical ‘Malinche’. Cano is accused of committing crimes against workers’ rights and promoting illegal immigration.
