Nacho Cano has gotten into another mess. The title of the new promoter musical and former member of Mecano, ‘Ibiza Paradise’, was registered a few months ago as a brand in the European Union. However, the Consell d’Eivissa has just challenged it alleging that the name of the island cannot be linked to private shows.
This has been explained by the Consell, which has delegated to the company consultation everything that has to do with the management of the intellectual property of the island: “The brands that Ibiza have as a name are always challenged.” From the agency they clarify that, from time to time, they carry out a tracking of the Spanish and European records looking for brands that can be challenged by this matter.
Last March, Nacho Cano registered the brands «Ibiza Paradise by Nacho Cano» and «Ibiza Paradise». On July 25, on the other hand, Consulti already claimed the nullity of the registration. There is still no definitive resolution, but the story in this type of conflict indicates that Cano has it difficult.
In spite of everything, Nacho Cano’s new project maintains its premiere date for September 12. This consists of an immersive Dinner Show that will combine live music, dance, theater and gastronomy in a two -hour experience.
From the official show page they specify that this is designed to “evoke the free spirit and essence of the Ibiza of the 70s”, in which it would be “the only show with live dinner in English of the Gran Vía.”
