Finally there is a new number 1 in Spain. ‘If I Had Met You Before’ by Karol G falls from the top to number 3 in its 19th week of existence and when it already has 6 platinum albums. The new number 1 is ‘Degenere’ by Myke Towers alongside Benny Blanco, which rises from the top 3 to the maximum position in its second week. The song included on her new album ‘The Black Panther’ interpolates ‘Tom’s Dinner’ by Suzanne Vega, who is credited as co-writer, and is a co-production of Cashmere Cat.
The original song dates back to 1981, although it was not until 1987 when it was included in the singer-songwriter’s best-selling ‘Solitude Standing’. Among the artists who have covered, interpolated or sampled the same song before, we must mention Fall Out Boy, Sofi Tukker, Cupcakke, Public Enemy, 2Pac or Billy Bragg with REM
On the other hand, the strongest rise these days is the song titled ‘IA’ by Clarent, which goes from number 6 to number 2.
With only a few hours of release, ‘Duro’ by Quevedo manages to be the strongest entry in position 18. It will not be its maximum, since right now it is number 3 on Spotify Spain, so it will soon rise, although not to the level of surpassing neither to ‘IA’ nor to the song with credits to Suzanne Vega.
It is a week of interesting entries in singles. Carolina Durante, who had not reached the top 100 Songs since they released a song with Amaia, appears in the top 47 with ‘Normal’. It is a collaboration with Rosalía, although this is not formally accredited. The success of this song is not a flash in the pan and it is possible that it will last more weeks in the top 100 due to its strength. Carolina Durante’s album, ‘Choose your own adventure’, has been ranked number 2 in Albums.
Lady Gaga appears at number 58 with ‘Disease’, the first single from her 7th album. The song has not repeated the impact of ‘Die With a Smile’, which rose to number 23 in our country. As for other territories, ‘Disease’ has been top 7 in the UK and top 27 in the United States. The Italian, French and German positions are similar to the Spanish: 53, 66 and 70, respectively.
The list of entries is completed with ‘My room’ by Tiago PZK and Rels B in position 55, ‘What if we do it?’ by Dani Fernández and Valeria Castro at number 61, ‘Palm trees in the garden’ by Alejandro Sanz at number 70, ‘In another life’ by Yami Safdie and Lasso at number 82, ‘Yo sé’ by Yan Block and Torres at at number 86 and the international hit ‘That’s So True’ by Gracie Abrams at number 95.
