The American band My Chemical Romance has shared a version of the absolute Britpop classic “Common People”, one of the greatest hits of its generation and one of the most popular songs of pulp.
“Common People”, in the hands of My Chemical Romance, sounds different from the original song, because the Americans take it to their field. Or rather, they took it, since the original recording and filming dates back to 2013, when the group appeared on BBC1 to perform several songs.
If a few weeks ago they shared the interpretation of “Na Na Na (Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na)” on the same program, it has been a much bigger surprise that they have finally shared their reinterpretation of one of the great hits of the British band led by Jarvis Cocker.
My Chemical Romance have always declared themselves fans of Pulp and many other British artists. Hence, for the dates of their European tour they will have, for example, names like Echo & The Bunnymen in Liverpool or Idlewild in Glasgow.
The song will be part of next July 10 of the special edition of “Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys” and that My Chemical Romance will be performing in our country next July 18 at Iberdrola Music in Madridcounting on Mogwai as guest artists.
