MUM '24, eighth trip to the center of the Extremadura scene

From April 18 to 20, Merida once again becomes a meeting point for artists, professionals and cultural managers with an extensive program of debates, showcases and round-trip business meetings. MUM once again energizes the Extremaduran cultural industry.

Spring and its essence of green shoots inspires every year, and there are eight, at Professional Music Conferences in Extremadura. Mérida opens its ancient portico to the music industry and all its actors and on April 18, 19 and 20 it develops a program collected in three letters, MUM: Meeting Music Market.
This year the debate space will focus on two tables: Flamenco from Extremadura, inside and outside its borders and New forms of musical promotion that will take place in the Maria Luisa Theaterwhich hosts the majority of the program of this eighth edition.
Regarding the commercial space for professionals, the other major leg of the MUM and promoted by AVANTE, is divided between pitchings or project presentations and B2B meetings or small 10-minute meetings between professionals, both national and international. To participate it is necessary to register in advance.

As for the artistic showcase, the showcase program spread across such emblematic places in the city of Mérida as the Temple of Diana, is the backbone of the entire MUM. This year a total of sixteen proposals have been selected: A Cantadeira, Adhara & Ritman, Ana Zomeño, ASINA, Asina Önde, Bolsa de Moscas, Burgim, Cosmic Wacho, Drorapta & MOD on the Beat, Monalisa, Os Sabugueiros, Pablo Moreno, Ra Di Spina, Leeches del Guadiana, Sara Lugarda and His. They will be 25-minute concerts and, in most cases, open to the public.
The eighth Professional Music Conference in Extremadura is organized by the Association of Cultural Managers of Extremadura in collaboration with Center for Performing Arts and Music (CEMART), of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, Youth and Sports of the Government of Extremadurathe Provincial Councils of Badajoz and Cácereshe Merida City Council and Extremadura AVANTE.
