Nearly thirty people were injured this weekend when the Ferris wheel at the German festival caught fire HighfieldThe fire started in two of the Ferris wheel’s gondolas.
Last Saturday, a fire broke out in two of the gondolas of the Ferris wheel at the German festival Highfield Festival – which takes place next to the artificial lake Stormthaler, on the outskirts of Leipzig – caused almost thirty injuries who had to be hospitalized for wounds, smoke inhalation, burns or even one of them from a fall. Some of the injured were firefighters who participated in the rescue.
The fire forced the festival to postpone the performance of Rise Againstone of the main formations of a poster that also included other artists such as The Kooks, Diao Command, Macklemore, Peter Fox either Donutsamong many others.
The festival went ahead after several ambulances arrived at the event to treat the injured and firefighters dealt with the fire. The fire broke out during the performance of the German rapper Ski Aggu and shortly before it was the turn of the hardcoretas Rise Againstwho performed later. The Highfield Festival is one of the largest events in Germany and usually attracts around thirty thousand people every day.
