More than a thousand artists ask to boycott Eurovision

Sigur Ros, Kneecap either Mass Attack They are some of the thousands of artists calling for a boycott of Eurovision 2026 due to Israel’s participation.

The campaignNo Music for Genocide”, which has mobilized hundreds of artists to remove their music from streaming platforms in Israel, has published an open letter calling for the boycott of the Eurovision Song Contest for allowing the country’s participation. The letter is signed by Massive Attack, Kneecap, Sigur Rós, Brian Eno, Idles, Dry Cleaning, Macklemore, Primal Scream, Black Country, New Road and hundreds of other artists.

The statement states the following: “For the third year in a row, Israel will be honored on stage despite the genocide being committed in Gaza, while Russia remains banned for its illegal invasion of Ukraine. We refuse to remain silent when Israel’s genocidal violence soundtracks and silences Palestinian lives.“. Besides, Kneecap have published their own letter stating that “Russia was banned from Eurovision in 2022. Israel has been murdering Palestinians for decades and is now committing genocide; and for the third year in a row, they are welcomed back to the stage. That is not neutrality. It’s a decision”.

It is worth remembering that last year, Caribou, Hayley Williams, Dry Cleaning, Lorde, Björk and others participated in the “No Music for Genocide” streaming embargo, geo-blocking access to your music from Israel. Furthermore, radio stations Spain, Slovenia, Ireland, Netherlands and Iceland confirmed their withdrawal for this year’s edition, following the decision for Israel to continue participating in the festival.
