MIRA arrives with Kim Gordon, Bicep, AG Cook and much more

This week –specifically the November 8th and 9th– a new edition of the MIRA Festivalexactly the thirteenth edition to be held in Barcelona.

The festival has become a reference for lovers of live electronic music, DJ sets and visual arts, through artistic installations, 360º immersive projections, audiovisual shows and conferences.

This year’s programming, as expected, offers a good selection of the most interesting proposals within the sector. From better known projects such as Bicepthe duo formed in Belfast with their live show brimming with energy that never fails, to legends such as the bassist co-founder of Sonic Youth, Kim Gordon what comes to present “The Collective”a work more focused on electronics, with the only date in our country. passing by AG Cookpromoter of hyperpop, known for reshaping the contemporary pop music landscape with his record label PC Music and as a collaborator with musical stars such as Beyoncé or Charli XCX, the techno derived from British Murder Boysaka Regis and Surgeonthe American live computer composer Carl Stone to track-breaking DJs like Craig Richardsbanner of the Fabric room in London.

There are also green dogs that always go on their own, like the Italian Lorenzo Senniexperimental musician with a raver spirit, who will play a game of musical chess with his new proposal “Scacco Matto” or the veteran Mike Paradinasknown by his alias µ-Ziqwho has had a radical rhythmic sound career for thirty years and is also known for being the boss of the Planet Mu label or the fractal Arabic rhythms of the singer and producer Nadah El Shazly. Or quality national products like the composer and percussionist RRUCCULLA presenting his album “Zeru Freq”the Barcelona producer and DJ Air as new hope as a creator of experimental soundscapes or People You May KnowYlia and Phran’s project. Queues are also expected at the dome of the DOME stage to see the immersive projection of the modular pioneer Suzanne Ciani and the studio of visual artists Desilence with their joint project “The Rhythm Of The Ocean”.

This is just a small selection of what will happen at this MIRA festival in 2024. Come and see that dance and experimentation come hand in hand. You can get tickets at this same link.
