“Dark climate, new order / new package, occasional smoker,” Hynes sings in the first lines, before the string arrangements and the impressive harmonies of Caroline Polachek invade the mixture. Then, the acoustic guitar arrives, which anticipates the interventions of Lorde and Mustafa, with some more prominence than PoCHHEK: “Everything means nothing to me / and everything collapses before you reach me.”
