Miley Cyrus has announced that this Friday will launch a new single entitled ‘Secrets’. A few weeks ago, the artist revealed that this song would be dedicated to her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, and that it would be a collaboration with Lindsey Buckingham and Mick Fleetwood, members of Fleetwood Mac.
‘Secrets’ will be part of the reissue of ‘Something Beautiful’, the last Cyrus album, which comes out on Friday and will bring a second unpublished cut with David Byrne called ‘Lockdown’.
Cyrus has made the announcement with a snippet in networks in which you can hear the lines sing: “Anywhere you go / you know i’ll follow.” According to People, the singer revealed details of the song when she visited the podcast of Monica Lewinsky, indicating that the subject would have helped solve some existing tensions with her father. On the other hand, Ray Cyrus published a Storie on Instagram ensuring that ‘Secrets’ was a “gift” of his daughter.
“I wrote the song about my father because I wanted me to tell me everything even knowing that there were secrets, even when I didn’t want to know anything,” Miley told Lewinsky during the conversation. «I wanted to be the person who made him feel so safe as to tell me the things that were hurting the family. I wanted to make him think that I am greater enough to endure it, ”said the author of ‘Subthing Beautiful’.
The family problems of the Cyrus have been subject to rumors since Billy Ray Cyrus and Tish Cyrus divorce in 2022 after 30 years of marriage. Recently, Noah Cyrus told People magazine that he was trying to stay “separate” from the family “drama.”
