Miguel Adrover, Mallorcan designer, has refused to work with Rosalia. The reason? The Catalan artist has not shown her support for the Palestinian people in the context of genocide perpetrated by Israel: “Silence is complicity,” he said in an Instagram post.
“Sorry, but Miguel does not work with any artist who does not publicly support Palestine,” said a representative of Adrover to Rosalia’s team after assessing the proposal, which consisted of a “personalized look.” The designer has explained his decision openly: «You have a speaker in which millions of people listen to you sing. That is why you have the responsibility to use this power to denounce the genocide, ”he says.
After clarifying that this is not “personal,” Adrover dedicates a few words of affection to the artist: “I admire you for your talent and everything you have achieved. And I think you are much more than those artists who only dedicate themselves to business and entertainment. Now we have to do the right thing, ”he concludes.
The only time Rosalía pronounced publicly about what is happening in Gaza was on October 19, 2023. That day, the artist uploaded an Instagram story in which she described the situation as “catastrophic”: “Hundreds of thousands of children and their families are fleeing from northern Gaza,” he denounced. However, the publication ended up eliminating a few hours later.
The newspaper claims to have contacted the Rosalía Management team, without response at the moment.
