Michelle Williams is the latest character to enter the Britney Spears universe. The 5-time Oscar-nominated American actress will be in charge of narrating the audiobook of ‘The Woman in Me’, Spears’ autobiography, which goes on sale on October 24.
“This book has been a labor of love, and of many emotions,” Spears told People. «Reliving everything has been exciting, distressing and really emotional. For this reason, I am only going to read part of the audiobook. “I’m so grateful that Michelle Williams is going to read the rest.” Spears will read only the introduction to ‘The Woman in Me’, while Williams will narrate the bulk of the text.
In ‘The Woman in Me’, Spears will talk about her life and career, from her childhood to the present, including of course her experience living under legal guardianship, with her father Jamie Spears serving as guardian. Spears was released from conservatorship in November 2021 after 13 years, months after revealing her ordeal during an explosive court deposition.
Curiously, the new merchandising on sale on Spears’ official website offers t-shirts with designs that quote phrases expressed by Spears during her statement. One of the designs includes the phrase “I wasn’t good / I was great.”
For her part, Michelle Williams is one of the most prestigious actresses in Hollywood in recent years. Among the most popular films in which he has participated are ‘Blue Valentine’ (2010), ‘My Week with Marilyn’ (2011) or ‘Manchester By the Sea’ (2016), ‘The Greatest Showman’ (2017) or ‘ All the money in the world’ (2017).
