If there are so many ballads of this style, it is because they work. Being surprised is something else. Pablopablo has achieved precisely the latter with his heartbreaking new single, 'Mi Culpa'.
Composed, produced and performed by Pablo Drexler, 'Mi Culpa' is built on romantic plucks that, thanks to a very careful production, lead to a powerful distortion that also serves as the emotional climax of the song.
Drexler blames himself for the unwanted end of a relationship, and tries to find the reason for everything using his sweet falsetto. “I don't know if it's the air, if it's the karaoke, or the after,” the singer lists, also mentioning “the summer of Madrid” or “the clothes you left on my couch.” The lyrics never go beyond devastating or cheesy, and leave us with phrases like these: “The more good you do to me, the more it tastes like nothing to me,” Pablo sings, letting out his voice.
This is the third preview of a possible new project by Pablopablo and comes after the release of the fantastic 'Sidekick', with Guitarricadelafuente, and 'Otra Vida'. It is another example of the great musical future that lies ahead of him.
